This document outlines the streamlined manufacturing process for applying decorative wood grain or marble patterns onto stainless steel plates. The core technology combines a PVD vacuum coating for the base color with a thermal transfer process for the detailed pattern.
Substrate Pretreatment → PVD Vacuum Coating → Thermal Transfer → Post-Processing & Packaging
1. Substrate Pretreatment
This critical first step prepares the stainless steel surface (typically Grade 304 or 316).
Mechanical Finishing: The sheet is polished to a mirror or brushed to a hairline finish, defining the base gloss and texture.
Cleaning & Drying: The plate undergoes thorough chemical cleaning and drying to remove all oils and contaminants. A perfectly clean surface is essential for optimal PVD coating adhesion.
2. PVD Vacuum Coating
This step applies a hard, colored base layer.
Loading & Vacuum: Pretreated sheets are loaded into a PVD chamber, which is sealed and pumped to a high vacuum.
Plasma Etching & Coating: An argon plasma cleans the surface. Then, metal targets (e.g., Titanium) are ionized. By introducing reaction gases like Nitrogen, a hard, colored layer (e.g., Titanium Nitride) is deposited on the steel surface, creating colors like Champagne Gold or Black Titanium.
3. Thermal Transfer Process
This step applies the final wood or marble pattern.
Film Application: A specialized PET film, printed with the desired pattern, is applied to the PVD-coated surface.
Heating & Transfer: The sheet enters a thermal transfer oven. Under controlled heat and pressure, the ink on the film sublimates and permanently penetrates the PVD layer.
Cooling & Peel-off: After cooling, the carrier PET film is peeled away, revealing the finished pattern.
4. Post-Processing & Packaging
The final steps enhance durability and ensure quality.
Protective Coating: A clear, protective layer is applied to guard against scratches and corrosion.
Quality Inspection: Each sheet is inspected for color, pattern clarity, adhesion, and surface defects.
Packaging: A protective film is applied, and sheets are packed securely for shipment.
The Red Copper Old Stainless Steel Sheet series, encompassing grades 201, 304, 316, and 430, offers exceptional durability and longevity. These sheets are engineered to resist corrosion, staining, and rust, ensuring they maintain their structural integrity and appearance over time, even in demanding environments. The inherent strength of stainless steel makes these sheets highly impact-resistant and able to withstand significant wear and tear. This robust nature translates into a cost-effective solution, as the need for frequent replacements is drastically reduced. Whether used for architectural cladding, interior design features, or furniture, this product provides a reliable and long-lasting material foundation.
A key advantage of this series is its aesthetic versatility and the unique character of the "old" or pre-weathered finish. This distinctive patina provides an immediate sense of heritage, warmth, and industrial charm that is highly sought after in contemporary design. It eliminates the need for artificial aging processes on-site, saving both time and resources. The availability of different grades allows for tailored aesthetic and functional choices, from the classic look of 304 to the more rustic appeal of 430. This finish develops beautifully over time, ensuring that each application is unique and evolves with a rich, natural character.
Beyond aesthetics, this product line provides practical benefits that streamline projects. The pre-aged surface is low-maintenance, hiding minor scratches and fingerprints that are often visible on pristine, polished steel. From a functional perspective, the range of grades, including the premium 316 with superior molybdenum-enhanced corrosion resistance, ensures there is an optimal, cost-efficient material for various applications, from coastal installations to high-humidity interiors. This flexibility, combined with the material's 100% recyclability, makes it a responsible and adaptable choice for designers, architects, and fabricators seeking a blend of timeless beauty and modern performance.
